Description

NGC 7497 is a Hubble-type SBc barred spiral galaxy in the northern sky in the constellation of Pegasus. It is an estimated 84 million light-years from the Milky Way and about 100,000 light-years across. The object was discovered on October 15, 1784 by the astronomer William Herschel with a 48 cm telescope.
